With the month-on-month growth rate slipping by one point, you may want to hold off saying ‘yay’ for May. But the Monster Employment Index for May 2016 hits some high notes too. Online Y-o-Y demand increased for 12 occupation groups out of the 13 monitored, and all 13 cities tracked registered positive Y-o-Y growth.

Although the month-on-month numbers may be down from 79% in April 2016, the Y-o-Y jump indicates a continued demand for senior managers.
Companies hiring senior managers include Capgemini, HCL Technologies and New Era India Consultancy Private Ltd among others.

Month-on-month, the e-commerce sector has also seen an increased demand of 4% from April to May 2016. The six-month growth rate has improved from 6% in April 2016 to 11% in May, with no significant fluctuations over the past months.

From 39% in April to 47% in May 2016, engineering/production registered the steepest month-on-month growth among all monitored job roles.

While there’s been a slight decline in month-on-month growth, down from 53% in April, Chandigarh continues to chart the steepest growth in Y-o-Y online employment opportunities.
Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad registered the steepest Y-o-Y growth and also ranked among top growth cities at 40%, 39% and 37% respectively.
