Accounting Officer, Faculty Partnership & Solutions Team in the Finance and Enterprises Office(Ref.:530338)

The Role

The appointee will assist in the following areas:

• various finance functions for Faculties and Departments
• daily accounting duties, including the preparation of journal entries, processing of payment vouchers and purchase orders, and monitoring budgets
• performing supervisory role of Accounting Executives
• preparation of account statements for grant-funded projects
• preparation of schedules and reports for budgeting and financial closings
• financial analysis and year-end audits and
• any other ad hoc duties assigned by Finance Manager/Assistant Finance Manager.

Qualifications and Qualities

• a recognized Accounting or Finance-related degree with at least 3 years relevant work experience OR Higher Diploma with 5 passes in HKCEE including English (minimum Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007) with at least 5 years relevant work experience in accounting or finance OR equivalent
• good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
• proficiency in MS Word Excel, and ERP systems (knowledge of using Oracle financial system is a plus)
• self-motivated, a good team player with the ability to work independently and
• experience in tertiary institutions/large organizations, and with supervisory experience would have an advantage.

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.
