Job Description
You will have the opportunity to bring Vuori designs to life. As a Materials Assistant, you will use your knowledge of trends, techniques, fabric, and processes to bring innovative designs to market. You link design, development, colors, and the factories. All communication must be clear, accurate, timely, and professional.
Qualifications
What you'll get to do:
- Sorting out Golden samples and creating a management system or record for daily maintenance.
- Execute development SOP and manage all the approval packages.
- Managed communication between HQ and vendors to manage Golden sample, Approval library, and related development processes well.
- Managing all the deliveries & submissions among HQ and vendors.
- Developments status tracking, tracker updating, and testing report managing.
- Train vendors based on development-associated SOP.
- Assisting Material Developer to release developments and bulk quality comments.
Who you are:
- A bachelors degree in Product Development, Textiles, Merchandising, or Manufacturing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years experience in product development, merchandising, and textiles, with expertise in color management strongly preferred.
- Sense of fashion and trends in the market
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills with emphasis on Google/Google Docs/Illustrator/Excel/PLM and other systems
- Aptitude for systems and systematic work.
- Must possess strong knowledge of excellent written and oral communication skills and maintain relationships effectively with cross-functional and internal teams.
- An understanding of basic textile knowledge, including but not limited to fundamental theories of knitting/waving, dyeing, synthetic/natural fibers, and yarn, will be preferred.
- Prior experience of exposure and travel to textile factories is a plus.
- Willing to communicate with cross-functional teams.
Special Physical and Mental Requirements:
- International travel experience is a plus; possible international travel is required.
- Willing and able to work additional hours when needed.
- Open mindset to any challenge to grow and problem-shooting.
- Bend, lift, open, and move product and related office items varying in weight from 1 to 25 lbs, depending on need.
