Role Overview
As a Senior Backend Developer at Prodds, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the server-side logic of our platform. You will work closely with our frontend developers, QA, and the development studio to integrate the smart contracts, web2 and web3 components. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the scalability, performance, and security of our backend infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and APIs.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Implement security and data protection measures.
- Design, manage and optimize database operations.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications.
- Collaborate with the outsourced development studio on knowledge transfer and software component integration including smart contracts and web3 components.
- Participate in the planning and execution of product features and releases.
- Mentor and guide junior developers (if applicable).
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Senior Backend Developer or similar role.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development.
- Strong proficiency in server-side languages and frameworks such as Node.js, web3Auth, Django, Python, Java, or Ruby.
- Experience with database management systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB. Experience in ORM is a plus.
- Familiar with RESTful API/Websocket design and implementation.
- Understanding of blockchain technology and web3 integration is a plus.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with smart contracts and blockchain development.
- Familiarity with the sports betting or fantasy sports industry.
- High proficiency in written and spoken English.
