Position: Backend Engineer

Salary: $65k - $85k USD (+ Bonus)

We are looking for a motivated Backend Engineer with 2-3 years of experience, eager to dive into the world of crypto and cutting-edge tech. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing startup based in Hong Kong (work remotely or on-site).

Experience level: 3+ years

Tech Stack: Go, Python, RESTful APIs, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes

(Experience in finance, banking or payments will be a plus; Start-up experience will be a plus)

The Challenge

We need a Backend Engineer to help build the next-gen trading platform that's secure, scalable, and lightning-fast. You'll work closely with the frontend team, product managers, and design experts to ensure robust backend services.

Scaling: Design systems to handle increasing data and user traffic.

Performance: Optimise for fast, real-time services and data processing.

Security: Implement secure, scalable infrastructure for our trading platform.

Crypto Integration: Work with crypto wallets, transaction flows, and DeFi protocols.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain backend services and APIs powering the RabbitX trading platform.

Scale and optimise systems for high traffic and transaction volumes.

Collaborate with product, frontend, and design teams to ensure alignment on architecture.

Work with databases to ensure high availability and performance.

Secure the platform with up-to-date coding practices and security protocols.

Participate in code reviews and team meetings to provide solutions for complex challenges.

Requirements:

2-3 years of backend development experience, with a focus on building scalable systems.

Proficiency in Go and Python.

Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and other databases.

Understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.

Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Interest in crypto and blockchain technologies.

Ability to work in an agile environment with fast-paced delivery.

Nice to have:

Knowledge of Solidity or other smart contract languages.

Experience in DeFi, Fintech, or Web3.

Familiarity with blockchain protocols and crypto-wallet integration.

A love for Rabbits and an interest in decentralised technology!
