Job Description

Our client is a leading technology organization with a strong global presence. As part of their growth strategies, they now have a newly created headcount for a seasoned legal counsel to join them as a Chief Legal Officer to be based either in Hong Kong or Singapore. You will work closely with senior management as a core member of the corporate strategy team.

Key responsibilities

Take the lead in overall strategy working closely with senior EXCO members.
Restructuring: Lead corporate restructuring initiatives to facilitate business optimization on jurisdictional, tax and FX efficiency.
Transactional matters: Identify potential legal risks associated with complex cross-border transactions and recommend strategies to mitigate those risks.
Shareholder Matters: Manage legal issues related to shareholder's corporate affairs related to complex corporate structures.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including business units, finance, and compliance teams, to ensure that legal advice aligns with business objectives.

Role requirements

10+ PQE Qualified lawyer from a reputable law firm plus in-house experience in a sizable organization
Sound knowledge and experience in working ideally in both PRC and US law & regulators
Good experience in handling various cross-border corporate finance transactions
Sound knowledge in handling various corporate restructuring matters is a must
Good experience in working with senior stakeholders, C-suites and can work under pressure
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and can adapt quickly to change
Near native fluency in Mandarin (written and spoken) is a MUST for this role
