Job Summary
Reporting to the District Director of Employee Engagement, the Director of Employee Onboarding ensures that new employees have a positive, efficient, and effective transition into their roles at Tarrant County College. The Director of New Employee Onboarding will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive onboarding process that fosters engagement, accelerates learning, and aligns with our company culture and values.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Performance Requirements*
- Works with departmental leaders to develop and implement onboarding programs for faculty, staff, and college executives
- Serves as a member of Human Resources leadership team and develops internal policies, procedures, and workflows for continuous improvement of HR organizational effectiveness and operations
- Partners with supervisory leaders across the college to create strategies to continuously improve the onboarding program through an employee's first year of employment
- Ensures a consistent and scalable onboarding process that can be tailored to different departments and roles across the college
- Delivers a highly engaging onboarding process reflecting the company culture and values
- Evaluates feedback from new employees and recommends program improvements
- Partners with the talent acquisition team to expedite hiring processes to meet the needs of college stakeholders
- Utilizes best practices in training, presentation, and customer service to deliver in-person and virtual onboarding services after hours and on weekends when needed
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, programs, and compliance issues accurately and timely
- Provides monthly reports on program performance using key performance indicators
General Supervision and Management
- Responsible for personnel management, evaluation, and development of assigned administrative and professional-level direct reports
- Implement high accountability measures for the team to our students, stakeholders, and each other, while offering an elevated level of leadership support
- Ensures that onboarding activities are completed timely and accurately to streamline workflows and maintain efficiency
- Creates and delivers training plans for new employees
Service Excellence
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
- Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the District Director of Employee Engagement

Required Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Five (5) years of working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
- Three (3) years of experience supervising employees (e.g., managing and evaluating performance of others)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Human Resources, Management, or Organizational Development
- At least three (3) years working experience onboarding various categories of new employees in a college or university setting
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of learning concepts, training and development methods, and techniques
- Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Skilled using computerized applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- Skilled in oral, electronic, and written communications
- Ability to organize, analyze and prioritize work, and data of self and direct reports
- Ability to effectively present complex information
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and establish cooperative relationships
- Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
- Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
- Ability to work independently, after hours, and on weekends when needed
- Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
