The Impact You'll Make
As a Facilities Engineer at Lam, with your project management expertise, you'll plan and oversee facility changes for plant, tool installations, and production equipment layouts. You'll work with architects to develop design criteria, layouts, and prepare contracts. You inspect construction and installation progress to ensure adherence with established specifications and schedules. Your focus on performance specifications required to meet unique operating conditions contributes to the efficiency and compliance of Lam's state of the art facilities.
What You'll Do
Manages a team of facilities professionals who plan, design, construct, and maintain semiconductor lab facilities infrastructure (equipment, machinery, buildings, control systems, etc.). Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs. Designs and develops organizational policies and procedures relevant to delivering facilities services to an R&D lab. Oversees the coordination of lab space allocation and layout, lab tool installations, and facilities modifications. Responsible for creating and managing lab facilities services occupational safety and environmental compliance programs per Lam policies. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation.
Other Job Responsibilities
- Manages outsourced service providers to ensure effective service delivery to maximize R&D Lab services uptime
- Outsourced service providers to be managed include: gas and chemical handling service provider; hazardous materials management and decontamination services vendor; process tool support OEM equipment technicians (vacuum pumps, abatement, chillers); and engineering consultants
- Ensures compliance with all applicable safety and environmental laws regulating the handling and processing of hazardous materials
- Aligns with business unit senior executives on lab asset management and Lab service levels
Develops operational expense forecasts and manages service delivery to approved budget. Expense budgets in the range of $1M - $3M USD/year.

Who We're Looking For
- - BS in an engineering curriculum
- 15 years of work experience with mechanical and chemical process systems
- Semiconductor industry experience highly desirable
- Verbal and written proficiency in the English language
- Effective resource management and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in chip manufacturing fab or semiconductor equipment manufacturing
lab environment
- Strong project management skills, including: budgeting, planning, timeline -
management, implementation, and project execution
- Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external teams
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Self-driven with strong leadership traits
- Highly competent with personal computers and productivity software, including -
Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint
- Competent with SAP software for writing purchase requisitions and managing
forecasts and expenses
- Comfortable with legal terms and structures for standard commercial contracts
