Job Description

We are excited to offer an internship opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our Account Payable team! This internship will provide hands-on experience in finance and accounting, giving you the chance to work closely with experienced professionals and develop essential skills in financial operations. During the 6-month internship, you will:

  • Learn to manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, reconciliation, and financial record-keeping.
  • Gain practical experience in financial transaction verification, classification, and recording.
  • Develop your skills in handling expense accounts, cost centers, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and supporting month-end closing activities.
  • Build a strong foundation in finance operations, cash flow optimization, and vendor relationship management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand finance's role in the broader business and gain insight into effective financial management.

This part-time internship offers a valuable learning experience within a dynamic and supportive environment, helping you to build a foundation for a career in finance and accounting.

  • please note that this is a part-time internship role with 6-month contract

Job Responsibilities:

  • Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
  • Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients
  • Generate reports detailing accounts payables status
  • Understand expense accounts and cost centers
  • Understands compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9, sales tax, etc.)
  • Various administrative tasks, including mailings, typing correspondence, report preparation, scanning, etc.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master's degree program, best if it's Finance, Accounting or Banking, Economics, Commerce or Equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to work 2.53 days a week in our Taipei office
