Full-time Research Assistant I in the Faculty of Education(Ref.: 530446) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.)

Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will work on the following research project with the Principal Investigator, Professor Kevin Tai: Translanguaging, Medium-of-Instruction and Second Language Learning Motivation. He/She will assist in operational and research-related activities, including but not limited to liaising with local schoolteachers, planning and conducting classroom observations, collecting qualitative and quantitative data, conducting transcription and translation, helping with analysing qualitative and quantitative data and writing research reports.
Requirements
Applicants for this position are required to hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Applied Linguistics and Language Education, with a minimum of 1 year of post-qualification work experience. Proficiency in both English (including academic writing) and Chinese (Cantonese) is essential. Candidates should possess capabilities in conducting Conversation Analysis and Multimodal Analysis, transcribing classroom interaction data, and performing qualitative data analysis using tools like NVivo. Strong communication skills, independence, abilities inmultitasking, and attention to detail are crucial. Expertise in qualitative data analysis, and multimodal interaction analysis are advantages.
