PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The incumbent oversees the operational and administrative tasks in relation to the ordering, receipt, shipment, inventory optimisation & returns of goods. This involves warehousing, material handling, control, receiving, picking/packing, cycle counting, managing returned materials, and storage environment maintenance. He/she ensures that the needs of customers are being satisfied; manages and coordinates logistics and warehouse activities and staff. He/she also leads and directs strategic planning for logistics and supports overall business strategy development in cooperation with sales and marketing managers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Coordinates all warehouse activities including stocking, picking, receiving, internal package delivery, transportation and hazardous material handling.
- Ensures effective execution of the peak plans in terms of space and resources.
- Responsible for overseeing the inventory management process, defining departmental strategies for appropriate inventory levels and executing optimisation activities.
- Oversees inventory control including cycle counting, loss prevention, stock rotation, obsolescence and damage.
- Analyses inventory reports and consignment stock reports and directs appropriate action to ensure inventories are accounted for per accepted practices.
- Works closely with Sales & Marketing teams on all issues relating to stock management & optimisation.
- Analyses current inventory situation and identifies potential improvement opportunities throughout the supply chain to streamline the business models whilst staying within corporate and customer's guidelines.
- Ensures documents for products to be returned to BIOTRONIK Berlin and Bulach are completed and delivered (e.g. complaint reports, rework requests).
- Determines quantities of components, parts, and materials required to meet demands.
- Identifies potential/existing shortages, and takes care of shortage orders to ensure a consistent flow of material.
- Locates, analyses, and develops a consolidated supplier base to meet current and future commodity needs.
- Responsible for managing and maintaining all item master data in the ERP.
- Management of BIOTRONIK's Material Master Database, MRP system (SAP B1), and internal Excel-based forms.
- Setup of SOP's and WI's.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- 8+ years of relevant logistics experience and inventory or supply chain management.
- Extensive MS Excel knowledge and the ability to create, develop, and maintain current or new reporting tools.
- Meticulous and able to demonstrate proven track in analytics, forecasting, project management, and inventory optimization.
- Experienced in working with ERP/MRP systems (preferably SAP)
