The Position

  • Medical Enablers in Roche is a group of people who are purpose-driven, experienced, and passionate with experience in medical affairs. We put patients and science at the center of all actions and we serve as the medical content expert in one or more therapeutic areas within the organization; build scientific partnership with external partners; ensure access to our products and clinical trials and attend diligently to patient safety and the needs of our healthcare professionals
  • We work hand in hand with our external partners and internal teams to discover the unmet medical needs along the patient journey, being obsessed with what they need to deliver exceptional patient care and acting boldly with them to transform science and ultimately patient lives by accelerating better outcomes for more patients faster.

Role Scope

Functional expertise

  • Developing and cultivating strategic relationships with therapeutic area experts and other healthcare influencers
  • Translating insights into strategic actionable recommendations for varied and broad stakeholder groups to impact the way we work and ensure we help deliver positive change in healthcare systems widely e.g nationally, beyond affiliates or globally especially through co-creation
  • Advising on, contributing to, or leading the strategic planning and driving the desired outcomes, taking into account patients needs, Taiwan uniqueness, business needs, resource requirements, regulatory and market access considerations. Can think from an enterprise level, beyond boundaries and borders, in order to bring best possible outcomes to both the local health environment, and more broadly, across Roche globally
    • Optimizing clinical development throughout the product lifecycle to bring better treatment to patients.
    • Generating and communicating medical evidence that helps practitioners, patients and payers make good health care decisions
    • Initiating and implementing medical or innovative projects e.g. compassionate use program, local access mechanism to address access needs, or digital solutions.
  • Internalizing the network way of working through transparent sharing of knowledge and resources to improve working effectiveness and create a bigger impact for the organizations.
  • Working in a self-managed team of peers and acting as a coach or mentor with VACC mindst to make people hold each other accountable to deliver solutions for the healthcare systems effectively

Requirements
Qualifications:


Advanced Clinical/Science Degree Required
Education:

M.D., PharmD, PhD, etc

Working Experience:

  • Professional experience within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Knowledge of the overall drug development process relevant to pharmaceutical/ biotechnology organizations
  • Experience in development and implementation of clinical trials
  • Experience in the principles and techniques of data analysis, interpretation, and clinical relevance
  • Experience of writing clinical publications and delivery of scientific presentations
  • Relationships with external TAEs, other thought leaders, and external organizations is strongly preferred

  • Be capable of solving issues that impact the Medical Affairs group and wider business and delivering on strategically aligned therapy area priorities where Medical Affairs capabilities are required
  • Ideally have awareness of theories, techniques and technologies within functional Medical Affairs. (e.g. data & insight generation, scientific partnerships, digital educational engagement)
