Job Description
Primary Function of Position
Professional Education Manager, Customer Training will report directly to the Customer Training Manager, Taiwan. This training professional will collaborate cross-functionally with clinical sales, marketing, trainer, and engineering to deliver high impact training for da Vinci surgeons from a variety of surgical specialties, which may include urology, gynecology, colorectal surgery, ENT, cardiac, thoracic, and general surgery. Besides providing training for surgeons, the trainer will also collaborate with hospitals to enhance da Vince training for surgeons in their early career path. The Professional Education Manager will be actively involved in the continuous improvement of training programs and provide support for customer training, society training, engineering, and training research initiatives.
Essential Job Duties
- Lead one or more marketing verticals by specialty to conduct advanced training for surgical teams; design agendas as needed and obtain regulatory approval
- Cultivate key opinion leader as host trainer for advanced training
- Identify high volume users and opinion leaders who have the potential to lead courses
- Vet potential surgeon leads for capacity, personality, and willingness to be coached and maximize their impact by placing them in positions of need
- Provide feedback to existing hosts on delivery, presentation, and lab execution
- Collaborate with marketing counterparts on host selection, forecasting and planning
- Conduct da Vinci Surgical System training programs for surgical teams at designated training centers and remote centers as needed
- Develop competency in the following:
- da Vinci System Technology
- da Vinci System applications
- OR Efficiency
- Training Pathway process
- Training/coaching techniques/methodologies
- Clinical competency in assigned vertical
- Act as subject matter expert for internal projects
- New product development
- Training material/ protocol development
- Training research initiatives
- Partner with hospitals (ex. Key Accounts) and training labs to create strong relationships in order to influence surgeon training and program.
- Attend society events to build relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, high-volume surgeons, and administrators.
- Liaison with other medical device companies to provide enhanced support and material for Intuitive Surgeon-Led courses
- Demonstrate the ability to present and engage with multiple stakeholders in order to create and sustain partnership and accountability
- Provide occasional support of the da Vinci System in a hospital operating room
- Work with Customer Training team in a creative, dependable, and flexible manner to improve existing training programs
- Prepare and lead regional courses for specific Sales regions
- Create and run reports on Salesforce.com and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities within a marketing vertical
- Provide suggestions and feedback to Customer Trainers regarding organization and execution of Surgeon-Led Courses and Regional Courses
- Partner with Customer Service Team to schedule training events in labs nationwide in alignment with forecast
- Work with Sales leadership and marketing to align course numbers with forecast and ensure that courses are utilized effectively in order to influence training strategies
- Work with Sales leaders and provide Technical Trainings as needed to meet Sales forecast
- Set and execute Key Accounts strategy to building training program in KA for Academic Program
- Align and support marketing team on Society credential program.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5+ yrs. Professional Training experience
- Proven experience training on complex topics and/or technology
- Strong interpersonal skills; proven experience as a project leader coordinating with internal and external customers
- High capacity and excellent problem-solving skills
- Solid organizational skills and ability to operate independently
- Professional work ethic
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin
Required Education And Training
- Minimum Bachelor's degree required preferably in Clinical or Health Sciences, Healthcare Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Communications or Education
Preferred Skills And Experience
- Medical-device experience preferred
- Knowledge of adult learning principles preferred
