Job Summary:
Primary Function
The Senior Manager, Accreditation is primarily responsible for oversight and successful management of Accreditation Activities and Projects related to operational and commercial needs within a specific region. This includes but is not limited to:
- Leading/Project Management of key accreditation projects and activities
- Securing and maintaining existing accreditations and regulatory recognitions
- Maintaining expert knowledge related to accreditation requirements
- Maintaining relationships with external bodies
- Direct supervision, mentorship, and oversight of Accreditation Managers
- Advancement and continual improvement of the CSA accreditation processes
Working Relationships:
- Reports to the Director, Accreditation
- Supervises: Manager, Accreditations
- Peer Relationships: Works directly with CSA staff involved in operations (Commercial and Strategic activities, Testing, Inspection, Certification, etc), Technical Management (TM), and other CSA functional groups coordinates efforts with regards to accreditation activities between groups and functions and leads accreditation team members
- Works with Accreditation Bodies and Regulatory staff

Principal Duties &Responsibilities
- Essential job functions:
- Assume a leadership role for overseeing, delegating, maintaining, and expanding specified accreditations and recognitions for CSA. Ensuring that applications for new accreditations and scope expansions are coordinated with appropriate stakeholders (Internal and External). Assisting in pre and post-assessment activities. Ensuring that accreditation audits are well coordinated and are efficiently managed. Providing information and training to management and staff, as required, in support of accreditations and recognitions.
- Responsible for providing to the Director, Accreditation reports on efficiencies, areas for improvement, on time delivery of accreditation activities and projects, budgetary resolutions, ROI analysis and other areas of interest with recommendations.
- Oversees and provides feedback on the financial resources needed for accreditations fees, as well as, other costs associated with accreditations and regulatory recognition. Accountable for monitoring, reviewing, and arranging for payment of accreditation fees while monitoring and reporting on value for the price paid. Accountable for the development and ongoing maintenance of the accreditation budget and expenditures pertaining to accreditation, conformity assessment and regulatory recognition.
- Prepares and transmits the applications for accreditation renewals and scope expansions.
- Accountable for managing the accreditation and recognition of CSA facilities. Oversees decisions on scope expansions or reductions of existing accreditations, and recommends new accreditations to CSA.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining all necessary accreditation records such as contact information, scopes of accreditation, regulatory recognition, accreditation requirements and related technical standards. Provides information to appropriate parties internally and externally, as required.
- Responsible for monitoring accreditation-related legislative activities to identify potential impact on CSA and communicates this information to CSA groups as required. Reviews both active and proposed legislation, communicates internally and recommends appropriate policy and position, liaises with legislators for the purpose of obtaining formal acceptance and recognition.
- Represents CSA interests in domestic and international conformity assessment body activities such as Mirror Committees, National Committees, the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), The Asia Pacific Accreditation Co-operation (APAC), The European Co-operation for Accreditation, etc.

- Site visits may include visits to factories or CSA locations
- Frequent travel to CSA offices (domestic and international) in support of accreditation assessments, as required
- Requires regular attendance and punctuality, as well as an ability and flexibility to work effectively in multiple time zones
- Constantly shifting priorities based on the needs of the business, accreditation bodies and regulatory recognitions
- High stress related to volume and significance of activities
6) Preferred Education & Experience
- Minimum amount of education and/or experience required to perform the job:
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering or Technology degree or diploma
- Sound knowledge of ISO 17065, ISO 17020, ISO 17011, applicable domestic and regional certification schemes, and other related regulations, standards, and requirements
- 15-20 years of progressive testing and/or product certification experience
- 7-10 years of direct management experience in a supervisory capacity
- Formal training in quality assurance methods
- Demonstrated strong collaborative and effective communication skills
