BBPOS is one of the world leaders in payment devices and the inventors of mPOS technology. BBPOS products are used by large retailers and leading online platforms across multiple industries. BBPOS is engaged in the business of manufacturing and supplying mobile and smart point-of-sale hardware, and the underlying software and infrastructure to deploy, manage, and monitor those devices. BBPOS is now part of Stripe's Terminal business since the acquisition in March 2022.
About the team
Post acquisition, the BBPOS team is now an extension of the Stripe Terminal team. Stripe Terminal helps Stripe users extend their online presence into the physical world. The Terminal team's mission is to make it as easy for businesses to accept in-person payments as the Stripe API has done for online payments. With Terminal, businesses can unlock in-person payments use cases that are right for their business modelwhether it's creating a flagship retail experience, extending their website to a pop-up store, or enabling a mobile point-of-sale at their next event.

Who you are
We are looking for software engineers with a strong background and interest in building infrastructure for developers. The ideal candidate will have a mix of technical expertise in building tooling and infrastructure for builds, releases, automated testing; a passion for solving developer productivity problems, and a pragmatic approach to iterative problem solving.
What you'll do
- Build tools and libraries that improve developer productivity for engineers at BBPOS and Stripe Terminal by understanding their needs and coming up with both short term and long term solutions.
- Work with a team of technically sophisticated engineers who make developer experience their first priority.
- Build and deploy tooling across BBPOS software stack including Firmware, Android ROM, and Android and iOS Mobile SDKs, especially build, continuous integration and test automation infrastructure.
- Design, develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for secure software development life cycle.
- Work with stakeholders across BBPOS and Stripe Terminal to balance and accommodate competing desires.
- Interact with global teams with excellent communication skills to provide support.
- Routinely perform code reviews to ensure high quality designs and implementation.
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor Degree or above in Computer Engineering/Science or related discipline.
- 4+ years of professional, full-time software development experience.
- Strong problem solver and able to take initiatives in solving problems.
- Experience writing high quality code in a major programming language, preferably Kotlin, Java or Golang.
- The ability to thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts.
Preferred qualifications
- Proficiency in either Kotlin or Golang
- Experience in CI/CD tooling (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, Github Actions)
- Experience in building automated testing infrastructure
- Knowledge of Security SDLC, which include the use of SAST, SCA, DAST tools is a plus
- Experience building tools to improve developer productivity, and empathy for the end users.
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and Chinese
