Primary Objective Of Position
- GSK Taiwan communications strategy owner
- Understand, monitor and manage the external commentator environment (proactive and reactive), building a radar mechanism to collect area-wide intelligence to effectively manage risks and opportunities. Ensure traditional and new media monitoring and reporting process are in place to ensure the business has full understanding of media coverage and impact across the market.
- Develop and implement external and internal communications, community investment and public relations strategies to enhance the reputation of GSK in Taiwan and to drive business performance across the business units in the market.
Key accountability & Responsibilities:
External Communications
- Build trust, belief and advocacy amongst external stakeholders
- Confidently interact at different levels of stakeholders
- Partnering with Health Promotion Board, Health Authorities, Societies, Hospitals, EEs in relevant priorities. Ensuring GSK's brand, mission and values is activated through the priorities such as press conference, bloggers activities, media interviews, media features and media enquiries
- Act as media and external spokesperson and ensure training of business spokespeople is in place for GSK Taiwan.
- Development and communications of GSK's position, solutions and implementation of targeted activities towards media for Corporate & brand specific.
- Support communications around our exciting pipeline in alignment with Scientific Engagement principles
- Understanding, identifying and engaging the right stakeholder(s), clinical papers, patient testimonials in the partnership
- Timely response to issues management and resolution with locally approved holding statement, key messages, identification of right spokesperson.
- Build strong personal network of key media commentators across market
- Lead and manage issues arising, advising and involving Leadership Team members and above country teams as appropriate.
Internal Communications
- Key business partner with Taiwan leadership team in developing proactive communications and change management strategy
- Lead delivery of effective communications plans and change
- Embed a compelling GSK mission and values internally through partnership with relevant NGOs, through Together Day, internal communications such as monthly GM's newsletter and a digitalized culture through Workplace.
- To build GSK as Employer of Choice through effective internal communications that deliver high levels of employee understanding and engagement, ensuring plans are executed to positively motivate employees, increase their understanding of and alignment with GSK business strategy, reinforce GSK's values and behaviors and improve ongoing two-way communications
- Understand and track internal pulse through surveys, focus groups to diagnose, design and embed changes
- Lead and take a hands-on approach when necessary to organize face-to-face communications with employees and key stakeholders such as POAs and Townhalls and prepare presentations, speeches, and other content to maximize the engagement of leadership teams with the business.
- Correspond with employees and external stakeholders to help them informed of company developments. Create strategy to increase employee awareness and promote productivity.
- Engaging and inspiring people.
- Ensuring leaders lead the change
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to maximize belief in, and support of, our efforts;
- Supporting LOCs in understanding ways of working with our new approaches, and ensuring the LOC voice is heard
- Oversee agency selection and the outsourcing of communications related work maximizing effectiveness and cost efficiency across the businesses.
- Bring the voice of Local Business Communications into the corporate centre to:
- Shape central plans and activities to create compelling and timely outputs of value to the Taiwan Business.
- Build clear links with Global Communications.
- Implement consistent measurement programmes to monitor performance and behaviors.
- Represent GSK Taiwan Communications and GSK internally and externally at key meetings to inspire people with the GSK brand, demonstrate our values
